there is hope... and a couple of races

The Squamish Titans Multisport Club (www.squamishtitans.com) had their final running workout for the summer/ fall session last night. Wrap up was a 5K time trial. My goal was to run 19 minutes which would be solid given my moderate running efforts over the last weeks. 18:41 made me very happy - it is a good basis for a couple of races that I know would like to race this fall.
The "Chachie Brothers" asked me to be on their Haney to Harrison Relay Team (www.bcathletics.org/h2h/). The individual leg distances are somewhere in the range of 10 to 15+ K. I only ran the relay once back in 2006 when I had my best running times on half and full marathon. H2H is always great fun; all runners from the Lower Mainland and other places come together to wrap up their season.
It is nice to have goal to train for. I will probably extend my dedicated running workouts to the end of November so that I can put down a benchmark half marathon time in the Fall Classic.
For today, I am looking forward to my bike fit...
