next season...

... I am going to race Oliver Half Ironman (www.outbackevents.ca/Oliver Half Web Site/index.htm) again. This is the first step to making a season schedule as far as competitions go. I assume that I will be lucky (and fast) enough to clinch an IM spot for Canada. If not, there is always Desert Half Ironman (www.outbackevents.ca/Desert Half Web Site/index.htm) in July.

I will have to work on a more structured workout schedule targeted to support my goal to make Ironman Canada and qualify for Ironman World Championships in Kona. For now, I go with the flow and enjoy late season workouts and a couple of races.
Over the next few months I will calibrate my heart rate zones with another lactate balance point test to increase the efficiency in my workouts. So far, I have been very diligent about my swimming and will make sure to be in the pool at least 3 times per week. This week is focused slightly more on running as I am part of a relay team (the Chachie Brothers) for the Haney to Harrison race (www.bcathletics.org/H2H/index.htm). This in turn will be a good prep race for the Fall Classic half marathon (or 10K???) that I am planning to do. At the end of November I will develop a specific workout plan targeting my biggest weaknesses - I have so many that I need to focus on the most significant ones....
